- Find real angels that invest the right way, and professional investors. Great investors know that you don't have all the answers, and that you're raising to work it out.
- Build your investor list.
- Ask investors about their recent investments to better understand who is likely to invest. They should be able to tell you the companies by name and how they’ve helped the startup. If they don't invest, focus your time on finding people who will.
- If investors ask questions, within reason, answer them as this is how investors get to know you and built trust and then invest. Don’t take questions as an issue, use them as an opportunity to build trust and show that you learn, and can deliver. But be careful to not go down a rabbit hole with investors....its a balance!
